Detroit casinos feeling pressure from south of the border
DETROIT, MI - All three Detroit casinos posted a decline in revenues from March to April, as new casinos in Ohio have begun to chip away at some of their customer base.
According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, MGM Grand Detroit, the largest of three gaming facilities, posted a 9.8 percent decrease in revenues to $48.99 million. Motor City Casino’s revenues fell 13.1 percent to $39.74 million from month to month. Greektown Casino’s revenues were off by 9.8 percent to $31.31 million in April, compared to March.
